Change happens on the ground

It comes from people and communities and needs to be consistent with culture and climate.

In these uncertain times there is a great pressure, and a need for change. Whether that be changes to agricultural practices or natural resource management from major industries to village farmers; or changes in the way we generate electricity from fossil fuels to renewables; or even changes to the way we eat, or the car we drive.

No one is immune from this pressure for change.

But these changes take time and normal, everyday people need to not only be willing to accept the change but be supported in their capacity to implement it.

At Rationale we have come from a diverse background with decades long engagement in international and national policy processes, working with UN agencies, intergovernmental organisations, civil society and indigenous networks around the world.

For many years we have become aware of the inaction by some governments and some industries to address the climate emergency and we want to support transformative action.

We have become aware of the knowledge gap between people on the ground, and how to make sense of these international and national policy and legal changes upon us all, and we want to help bridge this gap.

We understand the capacity of smaller, less resourced countries to meet the high standards required to access the financial resources and we want to provide accessible solutions.

We understand theories of change and complexities associated with climate and biodiversity policy processes, consultations and free prior and informed consent and laws and regulations, and we want to support their implementation.

We want to share our expert knowledge and provide advice to enable pathways and to design and implement projects, programmes, policies and law.

At Rationale we are dedicated to understanding the transformative solutions to bring about the much needed change, for people and the planet.

The science is clear, and we recognise, and are prepared to play our part to support change, in this climate and biodiversity emergency.
